REBS Annual Picnic

On July 30, 2022, the REBS members conducted their annual potluck picnic at the home of Barbara Bardella in Sebastopol, CA. The weather was perfect, not cold and not hot. Some 25 members and their guests were in attendance. The club provided BBQ chicken, tri-tip beef and salmon. While members brought a wonderful variety of home potluck favorites. A number of members helped Barbara set up the outdoors patio with tables and chairs and a tent cover for additional shade. Members and their guests began arriving at Noontime. About 1:00 p.m., the food line started with selections of appetizers, Korean kimbap (seaweed rice rolls), salads, selection of BBQ meats, Italian lasagna, and a separate table of delicious desserts. Homemade favorite recipes were the trend.

Joyce Smith and Garth Hokanson conducted a free raffle where just about everyone went home with a bonsai pot, calendar, book, magazine, etc. Alan Murakami and Diane Matzen presented from president Bob Shimon with an original bonsai painting in a glass frame to honor him for his 10 plus years serving as our club president.

We want to than Barbara for her gracious use of her home for the annual picnic.

During the picnic, Alan and Bob announced that future meetings, workshops and the annual show (scheduled for 2023) will be held at the Rohnert Park Community Center, 5401 Snyder Lane, Rohnert Park, CA. The facilities are newer than previous locations, central AC, multipurpose room for the show, separate rooms for meetings and workshops. The first board and general meetings will be held at the Rohnert Park Community Center on August 25, 2022.
